The latest Demon Slayer movie debuts two of Hashira’s powers in a scene unknown to manga fans – so here’s what you need to know.
Before the highly-anticipated season arrives in April, Demon Slayer fans are treated to a special movie, To The Hashira Training. The new series will adapt the fan-favorite Hashira Training arc from the manga.
The arc is featured in Chapters 128 to 136. However, because the material is lacking to make an entire anime season, the franchise will adapt scenes from the light novel. Hence, it will be an entirely new experience, even for manga fans.
However, the latest Demon Slayer movie also features a couple of non-manga scenes, which are kind of important considering they debut the powers of two Hashira. Delve deeper to find out which breathing styles will be introduced in the new movie. Warning: Major spoilers ahead!

They invade an abandoned castle to save a woman. The castle had been forgotten after constant restorations and hence became a den of demons. Accompanied by some lower-rank demons, the two Hashira enter the castle, where they meet countless demons. The series shows their powers for the first time.
Sanemi first uses Wind Breathing Second Form, Claws-Purifying Wind, followed by Obanai’s Serpent Breathing Fifth Form, Slithering Serpent. The duo then separate as Obanai plans to kill the demons while Sanemi has to save the woman. Obanai uses the Third Form, Coil Choke, while in the next moment, Sanemi introduces his Fourth Form, Rising Dust Storm.
They successfully save the woman. However, the strangest part was that the abandoned castle instantly transformed into the Infinity Castle before disappearing into thin air. The manga, however, introduces Sanemi’s powers in Chapter 136. In a sparring match against Giyuu, Sanemi uses Wind Breathing First Form, Dust Whirlwind Cutter.
On the other hand, Obanai first uses his powers in Chapter 140, introducing his Fifth Form. Chapter 140 is from the Infinity Castle arc. Hence, although the Hashira Training arc in the manga doesn’t introduce Obanai’s powers, the anime makes up for it with the special scene.
