The climactic battle between Sukuna and the jujutsu sorcerers finally comes to an end in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 267.
Jujutsu Kaisen has taken another step closer towards its ending, with Yuji defeating Sukuna in Chapter 267. It was a long time coming, ever since the protagonist trapped the King of Curses inside his domain in Chapter 264.
Sukuna’s defeat is a collaboration between a lot of characters. Starting from Gojo, the ancient sorcerer fought numerous battles against powerful opponents and caused many major character deaths, including fan favorites like Gojo and Choso.
After Gojo’s death, Sukuna’s defeat seemed impossible for a long time. Not only did surprise attacks not work on him, but he was also at his best after regaining his real body. What’s more, he had Megumi as a hostage after possessing his body.
However, Chapter 267 reveals there was a plan against his carnage from the beginning. The sorcerers knew what was awaiting them if Gojo lost and made several contingency plans. One of them was Yuta’s Gojo transformation, which shocked readers but didn’t achieve much.
The most useful plan is revealed in the new installment. In Chapter 267, we see Gojo and Yuta making plans while using soul-swapping. Their plan not only included having Yuta eat Yuji’s finger to get Shrine but also hiding Sukuna’s last finger as the final chip.

With the last finger safely hidden, they could bring out Nobara, who was thought to be dead for the longest time. Thanks to her Resonance, Yuji finally gets the upper hand in the fight and ultimately defeats Sukuna with Black Flash, ending the King of Curses’ reign of terror.
Chapter 267 ends here, with the editor’s comment saying: “The end to a long battle.” This confirms that the battle against Sukuna is indeed over, and the Shinjuku Showdown Arc is near its end.
That means the last four chapters until Chapter 271 will show the epilogue of Jujutsu Kaisen before the manga ends on September 30, 2024. But before that, catch the new chapter’s official release on August 25.
