When is Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 13 out? Finale schedule and delay explained

The popular drama anime Oshi no Ko is back with its second season. Here’s when Oshi no Ko Season 2 episodes will be released, and how many installments we can expect.

Oshi no Ko Season 2 was one of the most highly anticipated anime in 2024. It premiered this year on July 3 as Summer 2024 anime, picking up where the first season left off.

Oshi no Ko tells the story of a teenage idol, Ai Hoshino, and how she’s murdered after secretly giving birth to her twins. Unbeknownst to her, her kids – Aqua and Ruby – are reincarnations of her two fans. The anime show delves into the mystery of their reincarnation and their biological father who conspired in Ai’s death.

The first season ended without any of these questions being answered. Now that Season 2 has begun, fans are eager to find out who Aqua and Ruby’s father is and why he betrayed Ai.

When is Episode 13 of Oshi no Ko Season 2 out?

Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 13 will be released on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

Oshi no Ko Season 2 is running behind its original schedule after Episode 10 was delayed for a week. Now the season finale is postponed again by four days. Though there was no statement about the sudden delay, many claimed it was due to the scheduling issues of the studio, Doga Kobo.

This was not the first time the Oshi no Ko anime faced such set back. In Season 1, Episode 8 had been postponed for a week. It’d been initially planned to release on May 31, but had ended up coming out on June 7, 2023 instead.

The second season is listed for 13 episodes, which is two more than Season 1. The episodes will be released weekly and will end in September before the Fall 2024 season starts.

    • Memcho joins B-Komachi. She visits Ichigo Productions to audition for the group, but Miyako thinks she’s hiding something. Kaburagi talks to Aqua about Ai.

    • Aqua tells Taiki about the DNA test and their relationship. Taiki reveals a shocking truth about his parents. With Memcho as the new member, B-Komachi’s dynamics change.
  • Episode 11: Freedome Wednesday, September 18, 2024
    • Aqua goes shopping with Kana, making her flustered with his gentlemanly act. Later, he goes out with Akane and makes a crucial decision about their relationship.

    • Aqua sets out to the hospital Ruby and he were born to solve the mystery of his past life. Ruby and Akane have an adventure of their own which leads to a shocking ‘reunion’.

Season 2’s first episode debuted through an advanced screening in Tokyo on June 30 before its official release on July 3. There was another special screening on July 6 at Anime Expo 2024 where the first two episodes were shown.

Oshi no Ko Season 2 episodes are released at 11 pm JST in Japan and 7 am PST in the United States every week. The episodes will be released exclusively on HIDIVE.

This upcoming anime sequel will adapt the 2.5D Stage Play Arc. It’s the fifth and longest arc of the manga so far. The arc focuses on the preparation and opening night of the theater adaptation of the popular Tokyo Blade manga.

After learning Ai met their biological father at the Lala Lai Theatrical Company, Aqua joins their production of Tokyo Blade. Joining him in the cast are his pretend girlfriend Akane Kurokawa and childhood friend Kana Arima.

Another popular actor – Taiki Himekawa – is joining them and will later go on to play a major role in the story. Aside from him, side characters like Abiko Samejima, Sumiaki Raida, and Go will also appear in Season 2.
