Parasyte: The Maxim is a spooky body horror series that messes with your brain with several gut-wrenching scenes. Not only the body malformations, but the anime features a plethora of other elements that keep on haunting you in your sleep for a long time.
The 24-episode television series follows Shinichi, who accidentally permits a parasite to enter his body and coexist with him. Parasyte: The Maxim takes place in a world that is under the control of parasitic aliens that enter the minds of humans and take charge of their bodies. However, as our main protagonist shares his body with a parasite, they create an inseparable bond over time. So, the tale sees a parasite helping a human fight its own kind to win this game of survival.

Parasyte: The Maxim live-action features a distinctive setting
Maxim: The Parasyte’s live-action is titled Parasyte: The Grey, and it comes with an entirely different setting from what we have seen in the Japanese manga. The live-action will take place in Korea, where we’ll witness the same tale of parasites taking over the society and causing disruption.

Despite being inspired by Hitoshi’s work, Parasyte: The Grey has an entirely fresh storyline. To be precise, we’ll see a new narrative with a new set of characters. We should keep our hopes high because the K-drama will see the involvement of the famous director Yeon Sang-ho, who has given us projects like Hellbound and Train to Busan.
In Parasyte: The Maxim, Shinichi gives shelter to a parasite in his right hand but the Korean live-action series features Jeon So-nee, as Jeong Su-in, who falls prey to the alien. The first look at the project showcases her devastating condition.

Netflix has licensed the K-drama, and the cinephiles have already started wishing to see it following the footsteps of One Piece live-action instead of Death Note and Cowboy Bebop.
