Anime had a great year in 2024, but 2025 is looking just as good, with numerous titles set to debut or return. So you don’t miss a thing, we’ve put together a list of the best upcoming anime series in Winter and Spring 2025.
The genre shows no signs of slowing, with streaming services like Netflix and Crunchyroll helping to expand the reach of anime titles. Last year, we saw returning favorites with the debut of Dragon Ball Daima, One Piece’s Egghead Arc, and Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc.
But 2024 saw the release of plenty of underrated anime worth watching too, like Whisper Me a Love Song and Elusive Samurai. Plus, newcomers like Dandadan and Blue Box proved to be favorites when they dropped.
If you’re already feeling nostalgic about the range on offer, don’t fret, as there’s plenty more where that came from in 2025. Solo Leveling Season 2 and My Happy Marriage Season 2 are just around the corner, and here are 10 more anime releases coming up in the next few months.
Dr Stone: Science Future
Release date: January 9, 2025
Dr Stone: Science Future is the fourth and final season of the anime series, focusing on Senku’s goal to revive as many people as possible to support his space program. Despite the risks involved, he’s determined to save humanity.
Although Episode 1 has already aired, new episodes are set to drop weekly. Plus, Science Future is split into three cours, meaning you don’t have to say goodbye just yet.
Sakamoto Days Season 1 Part 1
Release date: January 11, 2025
The anime adaptation of Sakamoto Days is finally upon us, with Season 1 Part 1 airing on Netflix on January 11 and new episodes dropping weekly thereafter. There are 11 episodes in Part 1, wrapping up in March 2025, while Part 2 will arrive in July 2025.
The story itself centers on Taro Sakamoto, a former hitman who left the criminal underworld after falling in love. Over the years, he built a family and settled into a quieter life, even gaining a few extra pounds. However, his dark past continues to haunt him.
The Colors Within
Release date: January 24, 2025
Following its release in Japan, The Colors Within movie will be making its US debut at the end of January. The new movie has captivated the critics, earning a perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score.
Directed by Naoko Yamada and produced by Science Saru, the plot centers on Totsuko, who has the ability to see people as colors. When she forms a band with Kimi and Rui, their music writing strengthens their friendship and allows them to confront issues at home.
The Rose of Versailles
Release Date: January 31, 2025 (Japanese release date)
This upcoming Winter 2025 anime movie by MAPPA is based on the classic Shojo by Riyoko Ikeda. The story is set a few years prior to and during the French Revolution. It follows Oscar Francois de Jarjayes, a Parisian noblewoman who was raised as a boy.
Her first assignment is to chaperone the new Crown Princess Marie-Antoinette. Unexpectedly, the Crown Princess later falls in love with Oscar only to realize she’s a woman. They soon befriend one another as the story continues to depict the struggles of two women trapped in high society. The film has yet to announce its global release date.
Re:Zero Season 3, Counterattack Arc
Release date: February 5, 2025
Re:Zero Season 3 has been split into two halves: the Attack Arc and the Counterattack Arc, both of which have eight episodes each. While Part 1 wrapped up in November 2024, the second will be making its debut in February.

Attack on Titan The Movie: The Last Attack
Release date: February 10, 2025
Although the Attack on Titan anime series took its final bow back in 2023, that doesn’t mean you have to say goodbye for good. As well as watching reruns, the studio has combined the final four episodes of Season 4 into a movie subtitled The Last Attack.
Its 2024 theatrical run was limited to Japan, but this is all set to change in 2025, when Attack on Titan The Movie: The Last Attack drops in cinemas worldwide. For those in the US, it’s February 10.
One Piece, Egghead Arc Part 2
Release date: April 6, 2025
After a six-month hiatus, the long-running One Piece anime will be returning with the second part of its Egghead Arc. Episodes will begin their weekly release on Fuji Television in April, where they’ll be available to stream on Crunchyroll or Netflix, depending on where you live.
Based on the best-selling manga by Eiichiro Oda, One Piece’s Egghead Arc revolves around the Straw Hat Pirates arriving on Egghead Island, where they meet Dr. Vegapunk, a genius scientist and key figure in the series.
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Season 1
Release window: April 2025
2025 is a good year to be a My Hero Academia fan. Not only is Season 8 set to drop later this year, but spinoff series Vigilantes is coming up soon.
Written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and illustrated by Betten Court, the story is set five years before the events of the flagship series. The main character is Koichi Haimawari, who uses his Quirk to help others despite not being a licensed Hero.
Go! Go! Loser Ranger! Season 2
Release window: April 2025
The sci-fi action series, based on Negi Haruba’s manga of the same name, is a Super Sentai/Power Rangers parody that sees a farcical showdown take place for the public each Sunday. Foot Soldier D, however, is tired of this humiliation, so he decides to secretly join the Keepers squadron in order to defeat them.
Following its anime debut last year, Go! Go! Loser Ranger! Season 2 will be premiering in April, and it’s well worth a shot, as we said in our list of 2024’s most underrated anime.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death
Release date: May 30, 2025 (Japanese release date)
The first five episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 feature flashbacks that dive into the past of Gojo and Geto’s time at Jujutsu High. The show’s animation studio MAPPA has combined these episodes to create the Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death movie.
The new movie will be making its debut in Japan this May, with an international release date to follow.
