Makeup brand ColourPop launched a collaboration with magical girl anime Sailor Moon and it sold out within minutes, leaving fans disappointed and itching for a restock – but when will that be?
Sailor Moon is one of the most popular anime series of all time, as people fell in love with its story about a girl named Usagi Tsukino who befriends a talking cat named Luna. The feline then gives her a brooch that allows her to turn into the magical soldier.
LA-based brand ColourPop had teased a collaboration with the Japanese series a few days before launch on February 20, leaving fans all around the world excited to get their hands on the products. Unfortunately, many were left dissatisfied as the range sold out at lightning speed.

The collection includes two blush compacts with Luna’s face stamped into the powder, two glitter gels, two liquid lipsticks, two lip glosses, and the Pretty Guardian pressed powder palette. The pigments include shades named after things in the show, such as Silver Crystal, Full Moon, and Justice.
Sailor Moon lovers were quick to the beat as soon as the collaboration went live at 10AM PST, and it sold out within mere minutes, with some complaining that they’d unfortunately received “sold out” messages right as they were checking out.
In a now-deleted set of Instagram Stories, the brand thanked buyers for the response to the launch, and apologized to those who has missed out, claiming that they will be restocking at some point. They also reiterated this on Twitter, and said, “Thank you all so much on the support on our number one requested collection! We will be working on restocking as soon as we can.”

ColourPop’s Customer Care section tells fans to keep an eye on their social media pages for news of any product restocks, as well as signing up for their emails to be pinged exactly when they’ll become available for purchase again.
“Please sign up for our newsletter to be the first to hear about any restocks! We also announce restock dates via social media,” it reads, though nothing is said about the Sailor Moon line specifically.
As is common with highly sought out products, scalpers are now reselling the collection on sites such as eBay, Mercari, and Poshmark for a lot of money, with some bundles even listed at $450 – over $360 more than the original $89 price on the official website.
Dexerto has reached out to ColourPop for any further comment on the upcoming restock, but has yet to receive a response at the time of publication.
We will update further when new information regarding the availability of the collection comes to light, so stay tuned.
