TSM took home the first big event in the Apex Legends esports for 2023, the ALGS Split 1 Playoffs in London. Here is everything you need to know about the tournament standings including results and final placements.
- TSM had a massive resurgence, climbing through the ranks at last minute and ultimately winning the entire split.
- XSET, NRG, and ACEND had multiple rounds open where they could have taken the win, but TSM came out on top
- ImperialHal took home MVP on his first big LAN playing with controller, and called himself the best IGL in a post-game interview.
The Copper Box Arena in London was filled with Apex Legends action as the final day of games took place. After days of competition, only 20 teams remained.
After having a lukewarm tournament up until the final days of competition, TSM rose up and won it all. Despite XSET, ACEND, and NRG giving them a run for their money, the fan-favorite organization filled with seasoned Apex Legends veterans took home the win.

ALGS 2023 Split 1 playoffs: How to watch
The ALGS 2023 Split 1 playoffs were streamed on the official PlayApex Twitch channel. We’ve embedded the stream below for your convenience.
ALGS 2023 Split 1 playoffs: Format
The event was split into three parts: the group stage starting February 2, the bracket stage and the finals. The group stage will see three rounds of play, with the teams vying for spots in the winners’ bracket.
The teams were split into four groups, which can be found below.
Note: Aurora, Fire Beavers and DEWA United have announced that they will not be attending the ALGS Split 1 playoffs due to visa issues. They will be replaced by Horizon Union, DreamFire and Passion.

Each group played each other in a 6-game series, for a total of 18 games for every team.
The top 20 teams advanced to the upper bracket for the first round of the bracket stage, while the bottom 20 were seeded into the lower bracket. The top 10 teams from each side of the bracket took part in the finals, a winner-take-all affair without a match limit. Once teams reached 50 points, they became “match point eligible.” The first team to win a match after being “match point eligible” was declared the winner of the event. The rest of the field’s placement was decided by total points in the finals.

ALGS 2023 Split 1 playoffs: Teams and players
Forty teams have qualified for the ALGS Pro League Split 2 playoffs from five different regions. This includes 10 teams from each of the three major regions (North America, EMEA and APAC North) and five from both APAC South and South America.
While some big-names organizations have pulled out of the esport, many smaller ones have entered the fray, signing free-agent teams that have qualified for this event. Some of the bigger names still around include TSM, NRG and 100 Thieves. One of the smaller organizations that have jumped into Apex esports is Iron Blood Gaming, who returned to the game by picking up the Chicken Sandwich lineup.
