A popular YouTube data miner has discovered game files in Apex Legends that uncover all abilities for leaked character Jericho.
The second season of Respawn Entertainment’s popular battle royale is well underway, but so far we’ve only seen one new character added to the game.
However, as data miners dig deeper into the Apex Legends game files, plenty of potential leaks continue to surface as the developers continue to pour their creative efforts into the title.
So far, Crypto appears most likely to be the next addition to the growing list of Legends, as a comprehensive character profile has now emerged. Although, while the addition of Crypto appears to be a matter of not if but when, other potential Legends are also appearing.
In a video released on August 25, The Gaming Merchant reveals leaked details on another potential character: Jericho.
What are Jericho’s abilities?
Described as “The Frontline”, the character scripts that are embedded within Apex Legends’ game files portray Jericho to be a bigger character, potentially rivaling Gibraltar. Jericho’s abilities are as follows:

- Passive: Ballistic Shield Protection – “Your Ballistic Shield protects your back when you are not actively using it.”
- Ability one (potential Tactical): Ballistic Shield – “A full-body shield that protects your from incoming fire.”
- Ability two (potential Ultimate): Shield-Breaker Javelins – “Throw two electrically charged javelins that burn through enemy body shields.”
Details surrounding the Ballistic Shield appear vague, with it’s deployment time and character implications (such as health regeneration and gun use) yet to be revealed — how this will weigh-up versus Gibraltar’s Tactical Ability remains to be seen.
Shield-Breaker Javelins might skew the balance of the current in-game meta, as combining them with Hammerpoint Rounds will give the Legend the ability to strip both body shields and health simultaneously, which may prove overpowered indeed.
This data is gathered from a version of the game that is still in development, and as such, all of these details are subject to change.
However, similar game files have been leaked before regarding characters which have transpired to hold substance, and later confirmed by Respawn themselves. Therefore, the information provided here may indeed be legitimate, considering that the character leaks date back as far as February.
As previously detailed characters seem to be further along in their development, Jericho may have to join the queue behind Crypto, Rosie and more. Should this character and their abilities make it to King’s Canyon, there is a potential for a large shift in the battle royale’s meta.
