For a while now, Apex Legends players have been expressing their discontent with frequent “dashboarders” in their matches, leading some to think of ways Respawn could punish them for using the exploit.
“Judgement day” is coming for Apex Legends players who have been “dashboarding” in Apex Legends, but without a concrete punishment set for the cheaters, community members are thinking up of suitable ways to mark their misdeeds.
Dashboarding is a loophole of sorts for players who want to avoid the penalties that come from losing in Ranked games. If the game is too hard or they find themselves in a winless scenario they just abandon the game and they escape losing Rank positioning.
hey, no need to report it manually, we can see it on our end. Judgment Day will be coming 🙂

Players should be aware, however, that doing so will get their accounts flagged by Respawn. Senior Systems Designer Eric Hewitt said that “dashboarders” don’t need to be reported since Respawn can “see it on [their] end” for who used the cheat.
With an imminent punishment coming for those players, others are drumming up ideas for the devs to potentially use.
Reddit user ‘182ways’ had an inventive way to literally flag the cheaters. They think that players found dashboarding should get a “Flag of Shame strapped to their Legend’s back.” A scarlet letter of sorts, if you will.

That would be a pretty distinct way of branding the exploit-users, but it does have a couple of issues. User ‘Liath_TheBlue’ looked to be onto something when they said that “some people would dashboard just to have the flag.”
There will always be completionists in every game, so there could be perfectly honorable players using the cheat at least once to get access to the piece of Apex content.
Meanwhile, other players wanted a more direct form of discipline to get it over with instead of prolonging the punishment.

“It’s a video game, just like the dashboarders shouldn’t care so much about the rewards to dashboard, you shouldn’t care so much to do this to people,” user ‘canadian15’ said. “Give them a rank reset, patch the ability to dashboard and move on.”
In either case, players are eager to see what Respawn decide to do about the wave of “dashboarders” that have been cropping up in the Apex Games.
