Is Apex Legends crossplay?
Yes, Apex Legends does have full crossplay. This means that players on PC can play with those on both current and last-gen Xbox and PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch too.
In order to play together, you’ll need to be in a party, but be aware that you’ll be matched with players from across the console and PC spectrum depending on what platforms your squad is playing on.
How to add cross-platform friends in Apex Legends
Finding people to play with on other platforms is relatively easy. All you’ll need to connect with players on other platforms is their in-game name.
Simply follow these steps:
- Open Apex Legends
- Navigate to the ‘Friends‘ tab from the main menu
- Hit the ‘Find Friend‘ option
- Search for their username
- Select their profile from the drop-down menu
- You’re now friends and able to play with each other across platforms!
Keep in mind, the game will automatically look for any player matching that name on any system. After searching for another player, you will have to select the username that matches the platform they are playing on.
How to turn off crossplay
Crossplay is automatically enabled in Apex Legends, so if you don’t have to do anything right off the bat if you want to play with people on other platforms. Bare in mind, though, that queue times may increase as there’s a smaller pool of players to pick from.

Does Apex Legends have cross-platform progression?
While cross-progression is something that is being considered by Respawn, the feature is currently not enabled in Apex Legends. So if you want to play on another console, your items and progress will not carry over.
However, Respawn has confirmed that cross-progression will be coming to Apex Legends in 2022, so stay tuned for updates here.
Is crossplay enabled for Apex Mobile?
Apex Legends Mobile does not have crossplay with consoles or PC. This means that you will only be able to play with those who are also using a mobile device.
In their official FAQ for the Mobile version of the iconic battle royale, Respawn write “Apex Legends Mobile is being built specifically for mobile, so it won’t feature cross-play with the console or PC versions of Apex Legends.”
Apex Legends Mobile is a totally separate game from regular Apex Legends, meaning cross-play will never be possible in its current state.
