A Respawn Entertainment developer has hinted at a number of character balancing changes that could be coming to Apex Legends, affecting Mirage, Wraith and Lifeline.
Apex Legends is one of the most popular battle royale games in the world, with millions of players dropping into Kings Canyon since its release in search of victories.
One of the things that sets Apex Legends apart from other battle royale titles is its use of characters, with players able to select a Legend to use in combat that has their own special powers and abilities.
Respawn developer teases Mirage buff
With each Legend bringing a number of abilities to the game, balancing them so that each one is effective in combat can be tricky, and it appears that Respawn have set their sights on Mirage as a Legend who requires a buff to make them more competitive in the game.
One Legend has come under fire being weak, with some fans of the game labelling Mirage as “useless,” and while Respawn originally said that they had no plans to adjust him, it appears that the developers have taken the criticism to heart, stating that they plan to make adjustments to the character to try and give him “a little nudge upwards.”
“When I said ‘no planned changes’ I was referring to major reworks such as a new ultimate,” wrote Respawn Developer /u/Leeeeeee-RSPN on Reddit. “That type of change competes directly with our ability to create new characters. The being said, in the short term, we are definitely open to tuning value level changes.

“Things like invisibility opaqueness, invisibility length, ability cool downs, decoy health etc. He could definitely use a little nudge upwards.”
Nerfs for Wraith and Lifeline
While Mirage will receive tuning buffs in the near future, two of the game’s most popular characters are set to go in the opposite direction, with Wraith and Lifeline both set to get “gentle nerfs” in an attempt to level the playing field in Apex Legends.
What form these nerfs will take is currently unknown, but with Wraith far-and-away the most popular Legend in the game, it comes as little surprise that Respawn would want to lessen her power in the hopes that players will be convinced to try out other Legends.
There’s currently no official release date for any of these nerfs, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated as more information becomes available.
