Apex Legends developers Respawn Entertainment have provided fans of the game with a major update as they attempt to fix the hit registration issues which have been plaguing the game over recent weeks.
Apex Legends quickly became one of the most popular games in the world on its release back in February, thanks to its initial launch being relatively bug-free.
Since then though, the game has struggled to overcome a number of issues that have affected the gameplay for players, and there may not be a more frustrating bug that the hit registration problems that have saw bullets fail to connect with opponents even though they should have.
Hit registration issues plague Apex Legends
Hit registration issues are not a new thing for Apex Legends. Following the release of the Season 1 update back in March, players have been complaining that a number of their bullets fail to connect with enemy players, even though their crosshairs are right on the opponent.
Over a month later, things don’t seem to be getting any better, with players still posting on the game’s subreddit about the ghost bullets that continuously fail to find their target while they are playing the game.
Clips are still appearing on the subreddit, including one from /u/joshuav85 which shows the players first free bullets connect perfectly, before the fourth and final shot disappears into the ether, even though it appeared to be directly aimed at the opponent.

Respawn confirm fixes on the way
In their Respawn Check-In from May 10, Respawn confirmed that while the development team search for possible explanations for the bug, they were able to “reproduce and locally fix many cases of incorrect hit registration,” citing that mismatches between the game client and server in posing characters during animations is one of the contributing factors to the bug.

Apex Legends believe that the next update will go a long way to fixing these major issues, but gave a warning to fans that they “were not out of the woods yet,” and may continue to see similar instances take place following the update.
When they finally are able to solve the hit registration in Apex Legends, Respawn claim it will leave them in a position where hit detection will be “more solid than ever,” giving fans hope that things will be looking up in the near future.
While these fixes are scheduled to appear in the next update, there is no official word on when players will be able to get their hands on it, so patience will be required in the meantime until the developers announce an official date for release.
