Apex Legends has had an unforgettable release as the game welcomed 25 million players in the span of one week, and one player, in particular, might never forget their first week after being credited with over 100 million Apex Coins.
Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale from Respawn Entertainment. While playing the game is free, users can purchase Apex Coins to buy cosmetics and other non-gameplay related items, but one player may be set for life.
After finishing up a game, ‘MrJakeHD’ went back to the menu and found that their account had been credited with 125,169,100 Apex Coins, which roughly equals to about $1,287,786.
MrJake shared his bewilderment with other Reddit users who suggested he spend the coins as soon as possible in case Respawn decide to do something about this.
Amid the excitement, others wondered why MrJakeHD would post the blunder on the popular social site in the first place, which would only bring more attention and guaranteeing that the error be discovered and likely corrected immediately.

It was then when a Respawn developer chimed in to say they “see this kinda stuff regardless of Reddit” posts.
It’s still unknown whether the coins came from a player or a bug, but others have recommended MrJake check their bank account to see if the mistake didn’t come from a repeat of charges.
The company has already laid out a 10-year plan for the battle royale, and it’s safe to say that, unless Respawn correct the mishap, MrJakeHD will be ready for whatever the game comes out with.
