EA

NRG pro Coby ‘Apex Legends fans a painful reminder of just how long it has been since the devs added new content, with a snappy response to Respawn’s May 16 post.

If there is one primary criticism about Apex Legends among the fanbase, it’s the slower updates and new content when compared to other games in the battle royale genre, namely Fortnite Battle Royale.

Many players complained about the underwhelming Battle Pass after having to wait for Season 1. Some who play daily will have already completed their Battle Pass by this point too, and are left waiting until June before Season 2 drops.

Apex Legends content has dried up

Respawn revealed players would be getting information about Season 2 during E3 2019, leaving players to wonder about what’s next for the game for about another month.

The official Apex Legends Twitter account put out a tweet showing off a short Pathfinder clip, linking to their lore for the character, indicating it is now day 725 of his search about finding who created him. Of course, this opened the door for a potshot about the lack of content, which dizzy took complete advantage of.

While it hasn’t quite been 725 days since new content, it has still been a while since something meaningful came to Apex Legends. Since launch, only one new gun and one new legend has been added.

Season 2 will look to fix this, but it might end being a classic case of too little, too late. Unless something major is in the works, it will prove difficult to please players constantly looking out for the next new thing.

What’s coming with Season 2?

Respawn promised major changes with Season 2, starting with the Battle Pass. The team said the Battle Pass will come with more meaningful content, a new Legend, a new weapon and also teased map changes.

Twitch streamer shroud warned players not to get their hopes up about the new Legend, Wattson, revealing that he has played him, but it might just be because he didn’t like how he played.

“I didn’t hate it, I just didn’t like it,” he said. “That’s all. It’s like me playing Caustic, I just don’t like him.”

Regardless, a new legend of any kind will be a welcome addition, and players may just have to get used to the slower burn of Respawn’s content plans.
