Vantage tips and tricks Apex Legends

1. If you can see them, they can see you

Vantage’s laser is very easy to spot

Vantage has a range advantage on any opponent with her lethal sniper and a passive that gives her the ability to spot opponents from far away, even if she doesn’t have a long-range scope.

However, this power comes at a cost. If you’re scoped with Vantage’s sniper, everyone knows. A bright orange laser comes from Vantage’s eye piece whenever she’s scoped, meaning that she’s much easier to spot than other legends when using her Ultimate.

Additionally, Vantage’s sniper has a distinct scope glint. Even if the laser isn’t easy to spot at a distance, its source is. And, with that source being Vantage’s head, it isn’t good to stay scoped for too long.

Make sure you know who you’re shooting before you aim down that scope.

If you don’t have a scope other than Vantage’s sniper and want to scout for targets at range, put away your weapons and ADS while unarmed. This’ll give you a zoom level around 3x, making it easy to spot targets at range before they can spot you.

2. Smoke and mirrors

Vantage’s Tactical, Echo Relocation, is extremely useful when used properly. However, it’s also a little finnicky, and requires very careful positioning to be useful.

It’s worth getting into the habit of moving Echo around constantly. The only part of Vantage’s Tactical that has a cooldown is the jump itself. Moving Echo around and recalling him has no cost.

Having Echo trail you as you move around the map can be a lifesaver if you need to get out of a sticky situation, and having Echo deployed in advance will make it possible to jump at max range without waiting for him to deploy.

Additionally, Echo’s max range is around 55 meters. If you start traveling outside that range, he’ll travel toward you to stay in range rather than just disappearing.

3. Not your average sniper

Vantage’s ultimate is unlike the other sniper rifles in Apex Legends. While its 50 base damage puts it lower than something like the Sentinel, her sniper has a unique trait: incredibly low bullet drop and insanely fast projectile speed.

While it isn’t a hitscan weapon like the Charge Rifle, it might as well be. In engagements at 150 meters or less, Vantage’s sniper is essentially a guaranteed hit if her crosshair is on-target.

Combined with Vantage’s rangefinder passive that calculates bullet drop at long ranges, her ultimate removes a lot of the guesswork from sniping and allows her to win long-range firefights with ease.

It’s worth mentioning that Vantage’s sniper has an individual cooldown on the bullets in the chamber rather than the gun itself. Unlike Rampart’s minigun ultimate, bullets will regenerate over time for her sniper, up to a maximum of 5.

Vantage has a very clear set of strengths and weaknesses, and the best Vantage players are those who know how to make the most of her strengths while mitigating those weaknesses.

Good luck out there, and don’t lose your head. Literally.
