Apex Legends players have been branding the game “unplayable” since Respawn Entertainment launched their latest v1.13 patch, but there is a way of resolving the terrible stutter issues that people have been experiencing.
Many gamers had taken to Reddit to explain the issues that they were facing in-game since the update went live, but it didn’t take long for the answer to their problems to be revealed.
By performing just a few simple steps, Apex Legends players on PC can go from stuttering around the screen with an insanely high FPS and a bugged overlay, to playing as normal with all of their favorite legends across Kings Canyon.
The first thing that you’re going to have to do in order to ensure that the issue is indeed relevant to this guide, is check the FPS rate of your game since the update. If you notice that this is particularly higher, or different from normal rates then there’s a good chance that you’re experiencing the same problem as many others.
From there, you’re going to need to scroll through the in-game menus and hit ‘disable’ on Origin, in order to prevent the stuttering from returning. If that step was unsuccessful in your case, it’s best to try to reinstall Origin instead – one of these two should hit the spot.

The update itself was intended to introduce several fixes and improvements to core aspects of the game, such as audio, performance, quality of life tweaks, as well as hit detection fixes – as seen in the Apex Legends v1.13 patch notes.
In actual fact, it seems to have uncovered an even bigger issue for some players, making it pretty much unplayable – some say. However, with the help of this quick and easy guide, hopefully, as many fans of the game as possible will realize that the fix is not exactly rocket science.
