It’s no secret that cheating is becoming a massive problem in Apex Legends, and one partnered Twitch streamer has been banned for using cheats in-game.
On March 7, a video was posted to the LivestreamFails subreddit that accused Argentine streamer ‘MOBADOS’ of using third-party software to aid him while playing Apex Legends.
The post quickly began to pick up steam with claims that the cheats shown in the video are ‘Aimlock’ and ‘Norecoil’ – as the streamer was able to fire off rounds of bullets into an enemy with incredible precision.
Those new to in-game cheat terminology, Aimlock is a tracking software that keeps a player’s reticle locked onto a moving target, while Norecoil eliminates virtually all recoil when a weapon is being fired – allowing a player to shoot completely straight.
Now, MOBADOS has been banned by Twitch, despite being a partnered streamer, for utilising the in-game exploits to give himself a leg up on the opposition.
According to the comment section of the Reddit post, this isn’t the first time that MOBADOS has been seen using apparent third-party software to cheat in Apex Legends. A video, which was published a week before this Reddit post, makes it pretty clear to many that the streamer was using both cheats described above.
The evidence becomes further damning when considering that all Twitch clips of him “cheating” have been deleted and reports that any viewer who makes a remark or accusation in his chat gets banned.

Twitch had granted MOBADOS a partnership, despite the fact that cheating in online games while livestreaming violates their terms of service. They have since u-turned on that
However, the problem of cheating in Apex Legends still remains. Respawn has recently announced positive news on the matter, revealing that an in-game reporting system will be added soon to make it easier to report players using cheats and exploits.
There is no exact date for when the feature will be released – meaning will have to continue to report suspicious activity through the Apex Legends website.
Yet, it seems that it will take a whole lot more than just an in-game report feature to really fix a problem that has been allowed to grow and become a major issue in the hugely popular title.
