Respawn has finally shed some light on the long-time speculation of the Titans from Titanfall being incorporated into Apex Legends.
Details on Apex Legends Season 2 were recently announced during the EA Play event at E3 2019, giving players an insight into what’s coming to the game in the near future.
A new Legend is on the way, as well as a new weapon, an updated Battle Pass, and more. The upcoming season will really shake up the game in ways never been seen before.
Are Titans coming to Apex?
In an interview with Game Informer, Respawn’s executive producer Drew McCoy talked about the long-time speculation of more Titanfall content being incorporated into Apex Legends – Titans specifically.
“We prototyped it for like nine months during development, and we couldn’t get it to work well,” Drew revealed. “Titans were created back in the day as a power item. As a sense of, ‘I am now a badass, don’t mess with me.’ That fantasy fulfillment is destroyed immediately in battle royale once you’ve balanced them to a point where they don’t ruin battle royale.”
He then went onto explain that the development team simply couldn’t put a character of that scope and size into the game because of the complexity accompanying its design, saying, “We could never pull enough levers – how you get it, how strong it is, how fast it is, how big it is, what kind of weapons it has, when do you have it – all that kind of stuff.

“So I think for now, Titans are just not a thing. We’re no longer considering it.” he ended. It’s sad that Apex will never see Titans in the game, but at least there’s a good reason behind the decision.
Will Apex be getting cross-play?
In the same interview, the team also talked about the possibility of cross-play coming to the game. Players have been wanting to team up with their friends across different platforms for a while now, so the addition would be a welcome one.
Battle royale rival Fortnite offers cross-play, so it would certainly help boost the game’s popularity if Respawn were to add it to Apex.
Balancing issues were also addressed, and the developers want to make every character as fair as possible in the new season.
“For Season 2 we will have another set of balance changes that will…. we always strive to make our characters pretty even choices. So it’s sort of pick who you want to play who fits your style.”
