Twitch star Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek gave his thoughts on the meta changing in Apex Legends Season 3, fresh off Respawn Entertainment dropping the new launch trailer on September 27.
Respawn Entertainment is gearing up for the release of the new season of Apex Legends, as it launches on October 1. The latest phase of the competitive battle royale includes the highly anticipated new legend Crypto, who is sure to shake the game up.
During his stream on September 27, human aimbot shroud gave his views on meta changes with Season 3, as well as briefly teasing his opinion on the new character’s skins.
Apex Legends season 3 meta changes
Shroud streamed his reaction to the latest launch trailer for Season 3, but was pretty tight lipped as he informed his audience that he was technically under NDA, and wouldn’t tell them what he knew.
However, when one fan asked him about Crypto changing the meta of the game, he cautioned players from underestimating the impact of a new character based just on their abilities like he did with Wattson.
“I don’t know. Even if I did know the abilities I still wouldn’t know. When Wattson came out I didn’t really think Wattson would change the meta. But she kind of did.” he said.
The former CSGO pro continued: “Because I was thinking from a non-competitive perspective. Casually I was thinking, yeah she sucks! But from a competitive perspective she’s really good!”

With fans eagerly anticipating the latest legend Crypto, one person in his chat commented “All I know is the new character looks badass” which caught the eye of the Twitch star. “Wait until you see his skins!” he exclaimed.
Shroud then played coy by telling his audience “But, did I say that? No”, referencing the fact that he’s under NDA from discussing what he knows about the new character. But the tease was enough to send fans into a frenzy.
It dawned on shroud how excited he actually is for gaming this Fall, particularly the back-to-back releases of Season 3 on October 1 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on October 25.
“Damn so we’re gonna be occupied with Season 3 of Apex, and while we are playing Season 3, we’re waiting and waiting and then boom! Modern Warfare. Hell yeah!”
Fans are no doubt just as excited to watch shroud try out the latest legend to join Apex. As of the time of this article, the former CSGO pro has over 6.9 million followers on Twitch.
