Apex Legends previously removed both Kings Canyon and World’s Edge from the rotation, but while Kings Canyon returned to play in explosive fashion for Season 8, players are still waiting for the other map to come back as well.
World’s Edge was the second of Apex Legend’s three maps to be released to the battle royale at the start of Season 3, and it quickly became popular with fans who were ready for a change from Kings Canyon.
It was removed from the regular rotation in the February 2, 2021 patch for Apex, but is still available in tournaments. Still, if you’re not hopping into competitions like that, you’re probably wondering when we’ll get to play World’s Edge once again.
When will World’s Edge come back to Apex Legends?
In the Feb. 2 patch, Respawn told players, “World’s Edge is taking a break from ranked play but will return in a later season.” And that’s basically all the information available to the community right now.
That means that any potential new players arriving when Apex Legends finally comes out on March 9 for the Nintendo Switch probably won’t be able to play the map for the foreseeable future.

World’s Edge has to come back eventually though (we hope), and the beginning of new seasons is usually when new content is added. Keeping this in mind, we very well could see the stage return with some kind of facelift or upgrades, like what happened to Kings Canyon in Season 8.
It also seems unlikely that we’ll see a brand new map for Season 9, considering there’s only one season between when World’s Edge was removed, and the third and newest map Olympus, came out in Season 7.
Remember that none of this has been confirmed though, and we won’t know for sure when or how the map will be returning until Respawn lets us know officially, so be sure to check back as we’ll be updating this story with new info as soon as it becomes available and follow us on Twitter @TitanfallBlog for all the latest Apex Legends news.
