Horizon is the new Legend joining the Apex Games in Season 7, so if you’re wondering if she’ll be your new main, here’s a full look at her abilities.
Horizon was first introduced on October 13, as players were sent to the Firing Range, where she greeted them and set a series of challenges. Once the challenges were complete, we finally got our first look at Horizon in-game, revealing her name and that she’ll be joining us in the Games.
As a brilliant scientist, Dr Mary Somers uses her unrivaled genius to create some dastardly abilities, including a black hole, thanks to her drone, Newt.
What are Horizon’s abilities?
Here are all of Horizon’s abilities in Apex Legends:
- Passive ability: Spacewalk: Increase air control and reduce fall impacts with Horizon’s custom spacesuit.
- Tactical ability: Gravity Lift: Reverses the flow of gravity, lifting players upward and boosting them outward when they exit.
- Ultimate ability: Black Hole: Deploy N.E.W.T to create a micro black hole that pulls players in towards it.
We’ve already seen the Gravity Lift in action of course – this was part of Horizon’s “Wee Experiment” challenges – so it makes sense for this to be an ability.

Horizon Lore
Beyond just her abilities though, who actually is Horizon? Here’s what we know: She’s Scottish, a genius scientist tasked with saving the population of Psamathe, before she was betrayed, and has a drone called Newt.
She’s now trying to fulfill her promise to her son, after she was cut off and left for dead in space. This was all revealed in the Stories from the Outlands video, Promise.
The new season begins on November 4, so there really isn’t long to wait to try out the new character. You can also pick up the Champion Edition when the new season starts, to unlock the new Legend and all the other post-launch characters too.
