Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag – Gold Edition is on sale, which after the release of Skull & Bones, might give you the sea-faring adventure you want.
Ubisoft’s Skull & Bones has not been well received. The naval multiplayer game has been in development hell for nearly a decade and didn’t make a splash. However, all hope is not lost. The company’s backbone, Assassin’s Creed, is here to save the day.
Black Flag was released at a weird time in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Coming off the back of the divisive third game, and splitting from the normal formula, Black Flag introduced a new stalwart to the series: sailing.
If you’ve ever had the sea shanties stuck in your head from the action RPG era, this is the game to blame. The sailing is so smoothly integrated into the wider Assassin’s Creed loop, that it’s rarely been topped.
The Gold Edition of Black Flag comes with the following bonuses:

Entire Assassin’s Creed franchise gets significant discounts at Humble
For the next week, Humble’s Give Me Shelter deal brings dozens of games down to much lower prices. Alongside Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, it seems the entire series is also on sale.
The game redeems on Ubisoft’s own launcher, so be sure not to try to add it to your Steam library. Currently, the game is included in the Ubisoft+ subscription. To get that, it’ll cost $17.99 a month. While more expensive, if you want to dip in and out of different titles, it might be the way to sail.
