One of the rarest events in Baldur’s Gate 3 only had 34 players experience it, according to anniversary statistics shared by Larian Studios.
In celebration of the game’s first anniversary, Larian Studios revealed some interesting statistics. Based on these stats, a Reddit post from a fan highlights one extremely rare occurrence that can happen in Lae’zel’s Origin story.
Only 34 Baldur’s Gate 3 players who experienced the story as Lae’zel decided to kill themselves after Vlaakith rejected her ascension.
Vlaakith is the Githyanki’s ruler who once promised Lae’zel an ascension if she found the Mysterious Artefact for her. However, things don’t go as planned, and once she rejects Lae’zel’s ascension, the player is given the option to end her life.
Replies to this post were shocked at the statistic. Not only due to the ending that few players knew about but also because of the minuscule number of players who have experienced this ending.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players were already familiar with some of the game’s darkest endings, yet this one flew right under the radar. Since this has been highlighted as a fairly uncommon occurrence, it’s likely many players will attempt to hunt it down themselves.
Some replies attempted to figure out how this ending came to be, with someone saying “I would say you have to play Origin Lae’Zel, Kill Voss and Orpheus, maybe control the brain (?), and then be rejected.”
One player in the replies who managed to get this ending told curious fans, “just do the opposite of everything you think Vlakith would want and then do her ending still as origin Laezel.”
The discussions about incredibly rare endings such as this one push dedicated players to discover every conclusion this game has to offer, and it wouldn’t be surprising if fans fan even rarer endings.
