Redditors discussing the various in-game feats of Lae’zel have heralded her as one of Baldur’s Gate 3’s strongest characters.
There’s already been a lot of discourse about Baldur’s Gate 3, specifically around the best moments and the best party members.
There are some unusual choices and discoveries, though. Players have already discovered that Owlbears love capitalism, evidently, and or even finding a new enemy type hundreds of hours into the game.
But the most common topic of conversation is who is the best member of the party. One such Redditor has claimed it’s a surprising character, as many may not have used her to her fullest capabilities.
Baldur’s Gate 3 players claim Lae’zel is the strongest party member
A Reddit post by user Searchlights champions Lae’zel as the strongest member of the party.
The post is a meme of Atlas holding the world. Atlas is captioned “Lae’zel,” while the world is captioned “My entire 1st playthrough.”
Other players in the thread agreed, singing the praises of Lae’zel and her various feats of strength during their campaigns.
“In my first playthrough, Lae’zel was the one who defeated the elder brain. Doctors might call what she did a corpus callosotomy,” one user said.

“Lae’zel best and strongest girl, she’s absolutely amazing when geared out,” another user added. “plus she’s the only companion aside from Minthara who can naturally use heavy armor, which is great.”
Lae’zel, at her base stats, begins Baldur’s Gate 3 with 17 strength, which ties her with Karlach for the highest strength in the game. However, Lae’zel’s Fighter class and unique Githyanki race abilities mean she quickly scales up the ladder, as some fans pointed out.
“Between Laezel and Karlach I prefer Laezel,” one user said, championing Lae’zel over the fan-favorite Tiefling Barbarian. “Even without the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane the blue version of it deals huge damage with the psychic damage.”
Beyond just strength, though, there were, of course, those who were just fond of Lae’zel in general. She has a prominent role in Baldur’s Gate 3’s story and receives perhaps the most unique characterization of any party member.
“Love of my life. Taste of my tongue. Source of my bruises. My one and only,” a user lovingly said in reference to her romance subplot.
“It’s her story,” one added conclusively. “You’re just a companion.”
