Jake Paul has officially returned to the ring, taking on former UFC fighter Mike Perry on July 20, 2024.
Influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul was originally set to take on boxing legend Mike Tyson, but ‘Iron Mike’ had to postpone his long-anticipated return after suffering an ulcer flare-up.
Not wanting to wait until November, Paul instead decided to pencil in another match for July 20, facing off against Mike Perry instead. Perry had been tearing it up in the BKFC with a 5-0 record, but ultimately couldn’t hold his own against ‘The Problem Child.’
According to Jake, the outcome of this fight could have had an impact on his upcoming match against Mike Tyson if he lost to Perry. However, he pulled through and ended the former UFC fighter’s winning streak.
With the event now done and dusted, here’s everything you need to know about Jake Paul vs Mike Perry.
Jake Paul vs Mike Perry
With a “memorable” entrance, Paul returned to the ring with a weight advantage at 200 lb, coming in 3.4 lb heavier than Perry (96.6 lb).
After promising a “first-round KO”, Paul came in swinging and was able to quickly make contact with multiple body and head shots as Perry left himself exposed, causing a knockdown. However, no knockout meant the match continued and Paul’s promise was left unfulfilled.
Round two saw a “perfectly placed” right hand as Paul’s punches continued to make contact, Perry stumbling to his knees. Perry was left with a “busted” and bloody right eye, unable to properly hold his defense against the younger boxer.
Perry took on a more offensive role in round three, with both men taking hits and ending up cut. Before the timer rang, Paul struggled to see through his left eye due to the blood following a headshot.
In round four, Paul corned Perry in the ring and hit some “powerful” jabs, making it past Perry’s defense once more and leaving the former UFC star bloodied with a series of headshots. After being cleared by a doctor, Perry was able to continue into round five.

Perry continued to take hits in round five with jabs and overhand right, with the referee several times checking to ensure the fight could continue.
Finally, round six saw Perry knocked down for a third time after Paul destabilized him and hit him with a series of shots. In the end, Paul won by a technical knockout and took home the crown as the match’s winner.
