Alliance let fans vote on future decisions with crypto partnership

Swedish esports organization Alliance have entered a partnership with blockchain fan engagement platform Socios.com.

The agreement will see Socios.com launch a fan token for Alliance, which grants fans the ability to vote on future decisions made by the team.

The first poll that will run for the former The International champions centers around which game they should expand into next. They currently field teams in Dota 2, Super Smash Bros., Apex Legends, Fortnite, and Trackmania.

The fan token, named $ALL, will be available at a fixed price of $1 for the initial public offering. 5 million tokens will be available in total, and after the first sale the price will be determined by demand from fans.

Alliance are the fourth esports team to partner with Socios.com, following Natus Vincere’s deal with the platform on November 4. Other associated teams include Spanish organization Team Heretics and European giants OG.

The blockchain-fueled company have a major presence in sports, providing fan engagement possibilities for the likes of FC Barcelona, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, AS Roma, and the UFC.

Alliance were founded in April 2013 by gaming peripherals brand Razer and Alex Garfield, the man who also created Evil Geniuses and esports technology and services company Popdog. In December 2016 Alliance parted with their parent company GoodGame, which was owned by Amazon through Twitch, opting to become “player-owned.”
