There have been plenty of Warzone tournaments in the past, but Activision just hosted the first official DMZ event. While it was ultimately Team Joewo who came out on top, read on to catch up on the full results.
OpTic Texas hosted the first major North American Warzone 2 tournament days after the game’s release. WarsZ & zColorss won the Champ Bracket, while cloakzy & Daltoosh walked away victorious in the Creator Bracket.
In December, The Royal Air Force emerged on top at the third annual Call of Duty Endowment Bowl. The competitive Warzone 2 scene has experienced a little bit of a drought, but Call of Duty answered the bell by announcing the first-ever DMZ event.

Warzone 2 DMZ Gauntlet schedule
The DMZ Gauntlet went down on January 17 at 12 p.m. PST. All up, the broadcast ran for a few hours as teams battled through multiple rounds in the DMZ.

16 teams of three battled it out for a chance at a piece of the $30,000 prize pool. Captains included the likes of Swagg, ShawnJGaming, Repullze, and DrLupo.
With this event the first of its kind, there’s every chance we see more DMZ competitions down the line as Warzone 2 continues on into 2023.
