Call of Duty World Champion Adam ‘Assault’ Garcia has revealed that the former Evil Geniuses roster nearly ended up joining a completely different organization to Envy.
Fans of Call of Duty esports were stunned when Team Envy recently announced they had acquired all four members of Evil Geniuses’ CWL Championship winning roster.
Assault, alongside teammates Justin ‘SiLLY’ Fargo, Bryan ‘Apathy’ Zhelyazkov and Patrick ‘ACHES’ Price, made a surprise run at the CWL Championship event in August, defeating Team Kaliber in the Grand Finals to secure EG’s first world championship.
They will now join Cuyler ‘Huke’ Garland on Team Envy for the 2019 Call of Duty season, which kicks off in Las Vegas on December 7-9.
However, in a comment on Reddit, Assault revealed that, had their move to join Huke at Team Envy not worked out, the former EG lineup intended to team with European player Jordan ‘Jurd’ Crowley on Splyce. “Tunn was right” remarked Garcia, “If we couldn’t make this team happen… we were gonna team with him.”

Splyce have been actively looking for players to join their Call of Duty roster since dropping Madcat, Bance and Joshh after a season that ended in a disappointing group stage exit at CWL Champs, and have previously declared that they are looking at players from any region.
The organization have made it clear that they intend to compete at the highest level this year, with CEO Marty ‘Lazerchicken’ Strenczewilk tweeting that they are looking to build the “best roster in the world”.
While Splyce are still looking for their final roster, Team Envy will be ecstatic to have secured the reigning Call of Duty World Champions before Black Ops 4 releases on Friday, October 12.
