One of Warzone’s classic Sniper Rifles since the beginning, the HDR has seen its fair share of highs and lows. But with the meta changing in CoD Warzone Season 3 Reloaded, the best HDR loadout has become a whole lot more viable in Season 4.
If you fancy yourself a sharpshooter in Warzone, chances are you’ve had the HDR in your hands at one point or another. The fast-firing sniper was a popular pick in the early days of Verdansk but soon got lost in the mix with Black Ops Cold War’s integration.
Thanks to some considerable balance tweaks, it benefits at long-range in Caldera’s open space. Not only that, but it’s one of few Sniper Rifles in Warzone that can one-shot an opponent at any range!
This has made it the most popular sniper in Season 4, but you’ll need a top-tier loadout to get the most out of the weapon.
Here’s exactly what you should be running to get the most out of the HDR in Warzone Season 4.

Best HDR Warzone loadout: Attachments
Attachments
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: 26.9″ HDR Pro
- Laser: Tac Laser
- Optic: Variable Zoom Scope
- Stock: FTAC Stalker-Scout
By itself, the HDR doesn’t particularly stand out in any area other than Bullet Velocity. But combine this with its killing ability and it becomes one of the game’s best long-range annihilators.
In order to get there, your Muzzle and Barrel are the two most important attachments. We’ve gone with the Monolithic Suppressor and the 26.9″ HDR Pro. While the former doesn’t specify a boost, a secret 15% Bullet Velocity buff will be applied to the loadout.
These two options come with some pretty hefty downsides though. They’ll lower your ADS speed, so that’s where the Tac Laser and FTAC Stalker-Scout Stock come into play. With these equipped, the +120ms ADS speed will be negated and actually leave you with a -31ms improvement.
Best HDR Warzone class: Perks & Equipment
Perks & Equipment
- Perk 1: E.O.D.
- Perk 2: Overkill
- Perk 3: Amped
- Secondary: MP40
- Lethal: Thermite
- Tactical: Heartbeat Sensor
No different from many other popular sniper loadouts, the rest of your setup should be fairly standard.
E.O.D is a common Perk for almost any loadout in Caldera as in each game you’ll be pelted with a litany of different devices. Overkill is so we can sport a tip-top SMG to go with our slower, more methodical HDR.

Amped is a necessity as it greatly quickens the rate at which you can swap weapons. So if your position has become compromised and you still have the HDR in your hands, Amped will get it out of your hands in good time.
Your secondary should be the MP40 as it can tear players to shreds, whereas Thermite is perfect for sniffing out hiding players — maybe even sticking players too! To finish, we’ve gone for the Heartbeat Sensor as it’s instrumental in detecting an enemy’s presence.
How to unlock the HDR in Warzone
To unlock the HDR in Warzone, players much reach Level 11. Whether you’re new to the game or not, achieving this will be a piece of cake.
While we recommend reaching that level in Vanguard multiplayer as it’s quicker, it can easily be done in Warzone.
Alternative to the HDR Warzone loadout
With the change in Warzone’s Sniper meta, thanks to Warzone Season 3, the ZRG and Gorenko are viable alternatives if the HDR doesn’t suit you.
Not only that, the AX-50 is a strong option if you’re looking for another Modern Warfare sniper that can one-shot your opponents.
Gone are the days of the Kar and Swiss meta, it’s now time to see which one is the king in your eyes.
