The Frontal Impact Taq-56 Scar-L blueprint in MW2.Activision

The TAQ-56 is a powerful AR that currently dominates the meta, but to get the most out of it you’ll need a top tier loadout. Here’s our best TAQ-56 loadout in MW2 including the best attachments, Perks, and equipment.

Otherwise known as the SCAR-L in previous Call of Duty titles, the TAQ-56 is one of the hardest-hitting weapons currently in Modern Warfare 2.

It’s got the power, recoil control, and fire rate to take down the enemy with ease at minimal risk to the user. The TAQ-56’s strengths have seen it become the most-used gun in MW2 and by far the most popular weapon in Ranked Play.

Best TAQ-56 MW2 loadout

  • Muzzle: Komodo Heavy (+0.44, +0.10)
  • Barrel: 17.5″ Tundra Pro Barrel (+0.08, +0.00)
  • Stock: TV Cardinal Stock (+1.68, -1.01)
  • Underbarrel: Edge-47 Grip (+0.21, -0.12)
  • Rear Grip: Demo Cleanshot Grip (+0.29, -0.09)

We start off our best TAQ-56 loadout with the Komodo Heavy muzzle. What you sacrifice for handling you gain back tenfold with the recoil. This is the most impactful attachment on the TAQ-56 turning it into a laser accurate rifle.

Despite there only being two options for the TAQ-56’s Barrel, we recommend you opt for the 17.5″ Tundra Pro due to its increased power, range, and accuracy. On the topic of accuracy, the Edge-47 Grip offers a nice boost to recoil stabilization and aiming stability without slowing down handling too much.

We also recommend using the Demo Cleanshot Grip to improve both Aiming Stability and ADS. These improvements help the TAQ-56 work well as both a traditional AR but also for a more aggressive playstyle typically reserved for SMGs and shotguns.

Finally, to improve mobility we use the TV Cardinal Stock which increases sprint speed and Aim Walking Speed. These are both important stats for moving around the map effectively and being able to take gunfights on your own terms.

Tracker and Scavenger are fantastic perks that allow players to watch an enemy’s movements by following their footprints and picking up any ammo off their bodies when they find them. This is a fantastic combination for going on lengthy streaks.
