Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is coming out on October 25, 2024, but before that, players can get early access and a multiplayer beta to test the game and get their first taste of the upcoming COD installment.
Each year, Call of Duty players can look forward to a multiplayer beta with a limited selection of maps and modes from the next title.
This gives a first look at the game and allows players to gauge their initial interest in it, as well as let the devs — in this case, Treyarch — find any problems that need ironing out ahead of launch.
Beta dates & platforms
On July 15, 2024, Activision revealed the first details for the upcoming game beta in their official Call of Duty podcast.
The Black Ops 6 beta dates are:
- Preorder Early Access (All platforms): August 30 – September 3
- Open Beta (All Platforms): September 6 – September 9
As for the first week, it’s been confirmed the Early Access Beta for Black Ops 6 goes live at 10AM PT on Friday, August 30.

If you preorder the game straight from your console or PC, you should be able to download the beta version of the game on the allotted dates. If you preorder a copy from a third party e.g. Amazon, you should be sent a code to redeem in order to gain access.
For the Open Beta, you won’t need to do anything, as it will be free for everybody to hop in.
Content in the Black Ops 6 Beta
The Black Ops 6 Beta is set to feature eight maps across five game modes, they are as follows:
Modes:
- Team Deathmatch: Use teamwork to eliminate enemy players and reach the score limit.
- Domination: Capture and hold up to three zones to gain points for your team.
- Hardpoint: Capture and hold the Hardpoint (a zone that shifts to several locations during the match) to earn points for your team.
- Face off: The playlist involves either two players versus two players, one player versus one on small, tight maps, or three players versus three players.
- Kill Order: Each team has a high-value target. All kills count, but teams get more points for killing a high-value target. The high-value target gets added armor and their screen pings when an enemy sees them.
Maps:
- Core: Scud, Babylon, Rewind, Skyline, Derelict
- Strike: Gala, Pit, Stakeout
We also know more content is set to become available in the second week of the Beta, once it opens up. For the first week, the Level Cap is set to Level 20, however, in week two, it’s being raised to Level 30. This means more equipment, new weapons, killstreaks, and the like.
