A number of new Black Ops 6 leaks have pointed to the return of two fan-favorite multiplayer modes returning in the upcoming Call of Duty title, having been absent from the franchise for years.
Black Ops 6 launches on October 25, 2024, and is the first game in COD history to have a four-year development cycle, so players are increasingly excited about how polished the game could be.
Now, there’s something to be even more excited about, as leaks have hinted at the return of not one but two modes from past titles that have been forgotten in recent games.
The first of those is Prop Hunt, where players take on the shape of a generic object on the map and have to hide from their opponents, a very simple hide-and-seek but one that can be fantastic fun.
Prop Hunt was last in Call of Duty when it arrived in Season 1 of Black Ops Cold War, but hasn’t been in any of the games since.
This mode was confirmed by ForwardLeaks on August 6.
The next, though, is one that’s been out of the game for even longer, dating all the way back to the jetpack era of Call of Duty.

That’s right, Uplink — which did get a slight (unsuccessful) rebrand as Gridiron in World War II — is rumored to be coming back to Call of Duty in BO6.
The mode entailed grabbing an uplink drone, more colloquially known simply as ‘the ball’ and either throwing it or running it into the objective in the opposite team’s spawn.
It was a huge fan-favorite in particular among fans of competitive COD, as one of the esports modes in each of Advanced Warfare, Black Ops 3, and Infinite Warfare.
Its World War II return was trialled among pros but never made it to actual pro play, with Capture the Flag preferred, and since then the mode has faded into the background.
Of course, this isn’t confirmed, but players might know more when the Black Ops 6 beta kicks off on August 30.
