The big news revealed by Nvidia at Gamescom on August 19 is that Call of Duty Modern Warfare will feature full ray tracing with RTX GPUs and the results are amazing.
Ray tracing has pushed the envelope for what players expect for the graphics of their favorite games.
The full power is only available to PC owners who own Nvidia’s new line of RTX cards, but the results are night and day over what games normally look like.
Modern Warfare was already using a brand-new engine that would make the game look better than ever across all platforms.

While the game looks great on PS4 and Xbox One, PC is where the title is really able to stretch its legs and the power of ray tracing shows just what the current-gen consoles are missing out on.
Nvidia released several screenshots of what the game looks like with the new technology, along with a new trailer.

It’s very easy to see how drastic the changes are and players who plan on experiencing Modern Warfare on PC are going to have to fight strong urges to not upgrade their PC right now.
While ray tracing was originally only available for the 20-series Nvidia GPUs, support was later rolled out to the 10-series but it’s a stripped-back version of the technology.
Those at Gamescom have a chance to play Modern Warfare, complete with the ray tracing, and can capture their own gameplay.
