Dataminers have combed through Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and found artwork that reveals an impending collaboration with Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40K.
The Call of Duty franchise has been a bit trigger-happy with its collaborations in recent years. From TV shows like The Boys to the inclusion of chart-topping rappers like Nicki Minaj and Snoop Dogg, they’ve certainly altered the look and feel of one of the world’s most popular FPS series.
The franchise’s most recent entry Modern Warfare 3 is currently in the throes of a massive leak with new information still emerging. Dataminers have uncovered a tonne of new information including details on returning maps.
It’s not just where Call of Duty players will face off against each other that they’ve found. Initially uncovered by famed leaker Semtex, data mining of Modern Warfare 3 has revealed artwork that indicates an incoming collaboration centered around Warhammer 40K.
The artwork revealed shows imagery focused on the Dark Angels chapter of Space Marines and the Sisters of Battle. Two popular factions in the Warhammer 40K tabletop game and expanded universe.
Further digging revealed two new Operators, Boreas, an Interrogator Chaplain of the Dark Angels and famed Sister of Battle Helewise. Both characters appear throughout the Warhammer 40K novels.

The inclusion of the Dark Angels as a focus of this Modern Warfare 3 collab makes a lot of sense. They currently have a bit of a spotlight in the overarching narrative of Warhammer 40K now that their Primarch (read genetically modified demigod) Lion El’Jonson is back on the scene.
The exact shape this collaboration will take is currently unknown as the Operators are the only in-game assets that have been touched on so far. It is possible that playable content like playlists or map changes but that’s purely speculation.
We’d be lying if we said that we wouldn’t love to see Modern Warfare 3 or Warzone add Warhammer 40K’s famous Bolter as a weapon, though it may hurt the game’s balance.
If you thought people hated Akimbo .375s, wait until you see a grenade launcher with the magazine size and fire rate of an SMG.
