One of Warzone’s best SMGs is “way too good” in Season 1 Reloaded, and it’s proving to be a must-use for many of the battle royale’s best players.
With each new Warzone update – whether it’s one of the big seasonal patches or just a small, overnight hot fix – the devs typically create some sort of shift in the meta. That can, at times, be a massive overhaul that sees a popular weapon disappear from view, and, in other situations, it just elevates an underused weapon into a competitive option.
These updates typically also herald the arrival of a new weapon or two as well. Typically, the newer guns shoot straight to the top of the usage charts as players want to get to grips with them and unlock all the necessary attachments to make them meta. Though, there have been some less than useful additions too.
The HRM-9, however, falls on the first side of that. The SMG was introduced as a part of Season 1 Reloaded and has proven to be popular and it’s already “way too good.”
Best HRM-9 loadout in Warzone after Season 1 Reloaded
That’s according to Warzone guru Metaphor, who highlighted the HRM-9 in his January 23 video, comparing it to the deadly H4 Blixen from Call of Duty: Vanguard.

“This thing is unbelievable. Bro, this SMG is giving me the same vibes that the H4 Blixen did in Vanguard. Not that it feels like that, but it feels like I have an SMG in my hands that feels way too good,” the YouTuber said.
While some players are opting for the Princeps Long Barrel, Metaphor’s build goes away from that as he feels it’s “too slow.” Instead, he uses the ZEHMN35 Compensator and Chewk Angled Grip to balance the SMG’s recoil. And, of course, the 50-round drum barrel is there.
- Muzzle: ZEHMN35 Compensator
- Underbarrel: Chewk Angled Grip
- Stock: Folding Stock
- Magazine: 50-Round drum
- Rear Grip: PCS-90 Assault Grip
As noted, the HRM-9 has already proven to be a popular choice with players in the wake of nerfs to WSP Swarm, but it does also have a challenger in the form of the “insane” Striker 9.
Thanks to their versatility, SMGs will never go out of style in Warzone, but be sure to give this build a try before the devs consider more changes.
