Twitch superstar Dr Disrespect has lashed out at Modern Warfare, taking aim at Call of Duty’s “unbelievable” aim assist for controller players as he battled to finish a Triple Threat challenge during his February 24 stream.
The pinpoint power of keyboard and mouse setups compared to gaming on the sticks, along with added aim assist, has become a hot topic across battle royale titles like Apex Legends and Fortnite in recent times.
A number of Apex pros have suggested aim assist is “busted,” sparking a war in Respawn’s title between two camps, while Fortnite has been alight with discussions around whether Epic should hook the assisted mode from the game.
Twitch streamer Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel said he was left shocked after testing out the controller boost, while Fortnite megastar Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney issued a grandiose warning for the battle royale: remove it, or the game dies “within a year.”
Now it looks like the Doc is bringing the ever-present argument to Modern Warfare, after he was edged out in a 2v2 Gunfight Tournament by an opponent armed with fast fingers on the sticks, and the infamous controller aim assist.
After a protracted duel with his remaining rival in the two-vs-two mode, the Two-Time found himself on the wrong end of a bullet—a shock tragedy he immediately blamed on the “sh*t” aim assist his opponent was using.
“This game f**king blows!” he yelled immediately, watching his teammate fall moments later. “F**king unbelievable man… unbelievable. How do I take this game off their sh*t crossplay? How do I take it off? Get me off it.”
The Doc explained that he wanted to avoid playing against console players “from now on” because he believes aim assist is “way too strong” in Modern Warfare right now, especially when placed against “simple” K&BM players.

“It’s god awful man… aim assist, it’s just way too strong. Unbelievable! I just go bup, bup, bup and push ‘em, and they’re still up and shooting. What?” he continued.
The Two-Time was so convinced aim assist was the key to victory—both for his opponent in that one-vs-one battle, and for him—that he whipped out his own Scuf Gaming controller and plugged it in to “get a new edge.”
Soon, he lashed out again as he played on with the sticks: “Look at this man… if I played this game on controller just a little bit more I’d be part of Dallas Empire!” he said, before adding a cheeky barb. “I know they need the help.”
While he may not be the biggest fan of controllers or aim assist either, the 1993-1994 back to back Blockbuster champion knew he should impart a few tidbits of wisdom for his fans who could be making the potential switch.
“I’ve dominated on controllers my whole life, I know how to use them. One thing to remember with the controller compared to KB&M is you can’t have sweaty hands,” he explained. “Make sure you’ve got those hands dry.”
