Call of Duty YouTuber and streamer Brad “Drift0r” Overbey was killed by his own escort helicopter while flying into a game in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 ‘Blackout’ battle royale mode Private Beta.
Drift0r uploaded the hilarious – and shocking – incident in a Twitter video, where he is shown jumping from his chopper only to be sliced by its spinning blades.
It got better, too: Drift0r’s character slowly crawled through the air after being killed, hitting the ground unceremoniously.
“This is why you die so quickly sometimes.”

He even gave a slow-motion replay of the clip. It didn’t appear that Drift0r was anywhere near the chopper’s blades: instead, he was just underneath them at the time of impact.
It looks as though the blades have wide hit scans, and have apparently hit other players in similar instances.

This isn’t the only odd glitch that the ‘Blackout’ Private Beta has gifted users, either. Actor James Sutton responded to Drift0r’s tweet with reports of another glitch that launches players across the screen when exchanging gunfire.
“Drift, are you having enemies jump across the screen when you try and engage? It’s driving me fucking mental.”

Another glitch reported in the Private Beta even gives players a means to duplicate items. The glitch occurred when two players attempted to pick up the same item at once, and it wasn’t an isolated incident.
Blackout has also received an update, with Treyarch’s David Vonderhaar revealing a slew of bug fixes for the title.
While the ‘Blackout’ Private Beta is currently underway for PS4 users, the full title is expected to release on October 12 as part of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
