James ‘Replays’ Crowder of FaZe Clan revealed more information on his decision to come out of retirement full-time in order to compete during the 2018 CWL season on Call of Duty: WWII.
Since beginning his career on Call of Duty: 4 back in 2008 and 2009, Replays has established himself as one of the longest-running competitors throughout the entire CoD esports scene by playing on a collection of different teams.

After representing FaZe Clan during portions of the Black Ops 2 and Ghosts seasons, he eventually made his way onto Denial Esports for Advanced Warfare, which saw him win the 2015 CoD Championship on the title alongside, Dillion ‘Attah’ Price, James ‘Clayster’ Eubanks, and Jordan ‘JKap’ Kaplan.
However, even after being on top of the competitive community by winning the largest tournament, Replays struggled throughout the ensuing Black Ops 3 season on Luminosity, leading to his retirement.

Although he accepted a coaching and analyst role for FaZe Clan during Infinite Warfare, the competitive drive still remained entrenched inside him, which he mentioned was a major influencer for his decision to come out of retirement for CoD Champs 2017 and WWII during a ‘Behind the Controller’ segment by Scuf Gaming.
“I kind of wanted to get better. I remember playing that day, not doing too well, and I was like, ‘damn, what can I do next to make sure the next time we play it, I’m going to do good.’ And then I was sitting there realizing, like, ‘I’m thinking about this, I’m not even a player, why does it matter that I just did bad.’ But then, like obviously, it grew on me, and it really made me realize, like, ‘I still want to do this.'”
