It’s always difficult to know which guns and perks you should be using when you’re setting out on the latest edition to the Call of Duty franchise, and Black Ops 4 is no different.
As is tradition, Black Ops 4 gives players some base weapons to begin to use in Create-A-Class, which becomes available when you reach Level 5, with guns becoming unlocked thick and fast as you continue levelling up your account.
While it can be a tough choice trying to figure out the best loadouts when you’re new to the game, Call of Duty expert and YouTuber ‘TheXclusiveAce’ has produced four classes that you should be using, with every weapon, perk and item unlocked within the first 15 levels.
Class One
The first class features the ICR-7, equipped with a Reflex sight, FMJ and Quickdraw. The Quickdraw attachment allows players to be a little more aggressive with their AR, as they’ll be able to aim in quicker, while FMJ will cut through enemy armor. A Stim Shot will help keep gamers alive on the battlefield, while the use of Perk One Greed means that players will be able to use Scavenger to stock up on ammo, while Engineer will make sure that you will never get caught out by enemy equipment.
Full Loadout
- Primary Weapon – ICR-7 (Reflex sight, FMJ, Quickdraw)
- Secondary Weapon – None
- Gear – Stim Shot
- Equipment – Special Issue
- Perk One – Scavenger, Engineer
- Perk Two – Mobility
- Perk Three – Ghost
- Wildcards – Perk One Greed
Class Two
Class Two is designed for close quarters combat, with the MX9, which is the first SMG available in the game, the weapon of choice. Using the Primary Gunfighter wildcard, equip FMJ to negate armor, a reflex sight, long barrel and Hybrid Mags to allow for quick reloading.

Class Three
A tactical rifle, the Auger DMR is a semi-automatic weapon that can really pack a punch. Adding high calibre to the gun, alongside FMJ for those pesky armor users, can make it devastating. The Hellion Salvo launcher makes an appearance as a secondary to take out UAVs, while Cold Blooded in Perk Two will make sure you’re not spotted while you’re attempting to destroy it.
