An odd glitch has been discovered which allows players to carry three guns in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode, and it’s surprisingly easy.
Unlike other popular battle royale games like PUBG and Fortnite, Blackout limits players to only two weapons, which means you must be selective in what you pick up.
PUBG for example will allow players to carry two primary weapons, a handgun and a melee weapon, while Fortnite allows you to carry up to five unique weapons of any kind.
However, a glitch has been discovered which allows players to carry a third weapon, but it requires some careful looting practices.
As shown by YouTuber Vitamin R, once you have killed an enemy, their weapon will sometimes drop out of their hands, rather than being returned to their loot bag, similar to how a weapon is dropped in multiplayer.
By carefully picking up the weapon directly from the ground (it will appear in white text, with no image of the weapon), it will be added to you inventory, while you will retain the two weapons you were already carrying.

The message which pops up will not say ‘swap’, and instead will read: ‘HOLD [SQUARE on PS4] for [WEAPON]’, indicating that it will not replace any weapon already in your inventory.
Even more bizarre, is that the glitch will also fully kit out your weapons with attachments, as well as giving up to 600 5.56 ammo (as shown in the video). It’s unknown if the attachments and ammo glitch repeats with every weapon looted in this way.
The glitch will likely soon be patched by Treyarch once it becomes widely known, so players may not have long to exploit it in game.
The example shown is from a PlayStation 4 version of the game – it is unknown whether the glitch is also occurring on Xbox One or PC.
