The huge Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 5 update is here, and with it arrives another Call of Duty melee weapon: the Cane. Here’s everything you need to know about the hilarious new close-quarters option, including its damage, speed, and how to unlock it this season.
Season 5 has been revealed for Cold War and Warzone players are eager to get their hand on the new content that is coming. One of the new weapons is a melee weapon that will be available at launch.
This is not the first time we have seen melee weapons added with a new season. Previously, we have seen a Wakizashi, Sledgehammer, Mace, Ballistic Knife, E-Tool, a baseball bat, and a machete as other melee weapons.
With all these options, Activision has given players another weapon to wield in their hands whether they are running around Nuketown or the streets of Verdansk.
The Cane is coming free for all players, and here’s how to get it.

We’ll let you in on a little secret; the Cane operates just like every other melee weapon in the Call of Duty titles. It does have a little bit of extra class when you use it, however, so we absolutely understand wanting to get your hands on it this update.
Activision describes it as a “lethal walking cane, where fashion meets function,” and it comes adorned with a sterling silver handle.
How to unlock the Cane in Warzone & Cold War
If you want to add the latest Call of Duty melee weapon to your collection, then you’ll definitely want to know how to unlock it in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War.
To unlock the Cane, players must complete a new challenge — “Cane Unlock” — in either of the two titles. This objective requires you to, “kill an enemy disoriented or blinded by your Stun Grenade or Flashbang in 15 different completed matches,” all while using a melee weapon.
Activision also said the Cane will be in future bundles, so players can wait for a blueprint to come to the store and buy it if they chose to unlock it that way.
