Call of Duty: Vanguard is finally on the horizon, and players were able to get their first look at the game though a live in-game Warzone event, The Battle of Verdansk.
Following the launch of Season 5 for Cold War and Warzone, many Call of Duty fans are now turned their attention towards the next mainline entry into the franchise, Vanguard, which will take players back to World War 2.
There have already been several mysterious Vanguard teasers sent out to Warzone creators in different regions, and even a brand new cutscene that plays for winners at the end of a match, introducing them to a sniper called Polina.
Now, it’s finally happened, the official reveal for the highly-anticipated Call of Duty: Vanguard took place in Warzone. In case you missed anything we’ve put together some of the top moments.

When deployed, players’ objective dictated to “Destroy Armored Train” and were given a minute to set up and prepare for it. Players had RPGs, ARs, Snipers, and whatever else they needed to do damage to this train.
Once the train arrived it was time for players to unload damage to different sections of the train. This required the lobby to do 135,000 damage as a team and took around 10 minutes. Once that happened chaos ensued.
Fighter pilots in the hundreds took over the skies in Verdansk. Players then had to run for their lives, literally. Avoiding the rain of bombs, you had to get to the exfil location to survive and unlock the Vanguard trailer.
Missed out on the event? No worries, Activision announced that it will be playable all weekend long. Meaning players can still have a chance to earn the rewards for playing through the event.
How to play the Battle of Verdansk in Warzone
Similar to last year’s Black Ops Cold War reveal, there is a special playlist in Warzone called the Battle of Verdansk. During this event, there will be a set of challenges to complete before the Call of Duty: Vanguard reveal trailer is unlocked.
Those who take part will be rewarded well, as the official Call of Duty Twitter revealed that players can earn new weapon and knife blueprints for completing the mission, as well as a bike skin, a timepiece, and more.
