Developers at Infinity Ward and Raven Software have finally addressed the powerful vehicle-heavy meta in Warzone by removing armored trucks. Though, the change comes with a catch that may upset dedicated players.
Since its release on March 10, Warzone players have come to grips with a meta largely dominated by vehicles. In the month that has followed, RPGs and C4 have become staples in custom loadouts just to make it through until the final zone.
Infinity Ward and Raven Software have finally issued a change that could soon spell the end of the vehicle meta, although the latest hotfix comes with a major caveat. Only Solos will be affected.
Big Warzone change on April 14
Following an April 14 update that changed the available Warzone playlists, Solos, Scopes and Scatter Gun Trios, and Quads became the standard modes. However, just hours after the patch went live across all platforms however, Warzone has been hit with another hotfix that specifically targets vehicular combat.
“We pulled out the big Armored Trucks from the solo playlist,” Raven Software Creative Director Amos Hodge outlined. “Hopefully that tones downs the vehicle meta a bit.”
While there was no mention of any vehicle-specific adjustments for the other available playlists, the most controversial vehicle has been outright pulled from just Solos competition.

Could an overall vehicle nerf be next in Warzone?
It’s clear that problematic vehicles are a top priority for the Warzone development teams, as such a quick pivot came just hours after the latest playlists were updated.
Also aware of the “vehicle meta” in Warzone, this initial change to Solos could be the first domino to fall in more updates to come for Duos, Trios, and Quads as well.
Undeniably, one of the biggest talking points throughout the first month of the free to play title, this update is sure to please those that grind alone. Though, players that often team up with others, are still going to face the same armored trucks each and every game for the time being.
Perhaps a more widespread change is on the horizon as both Infinity Ward and Raven Software appear eager to strike a new balance.
One less factor to consider while on-foot, solo players will now only have to worry about ATVs, SUVs, and Tactical Rovers running them over. No longer will armored trucks spoil the fun in that particular playlist.
