Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is gearing up for another spectacular reveal event. For all the latest on the next mammoth blockbuster in the CoD franchise, here’s everything we know about MW3 and its official announcement.
To build up the hype and anticipation for CoD: Modern Warfare 2, Activision ran the Call of Duty Next event in 2022. This gave players great insight into the upcoming game, and now it’s a year later, and Modern Warfare 3 FPS looks to be the next CoD title in the headlights.
With back-and-forth rumors about whether or not there would be a new premium release, as there is every year, Activision is releasing a new series entry in 2023. The COD devs confirmed that there will be a worldwide reveal event in Warzone 2 during Season 5.

When does the Modern Warfare 3 reveal event end?
Activision confirmed that the in-game reveal event started on August 17, and players will be able to complete it until August 21 at 10:30 am PST.
How to complete Shadow Siege
At the beginning of the Shadow Siege event, up to 32 operators will receive information on how to complete the mission objectives. In the Shadow Siege blog post, Activision recommended completing the event in Quads due to its difficult nature.
It’s important to note that everyone in the lobby works together in the mission in a battle against Konni Group AI enemies. Respawns are enabled and players are equipped with a durable gas mask and a self revive kit.
Phase 1
First, players must secure one of eight missile silos around Al Mazrah with their squad. The silos can be found on the map and will appear as missle icons. When every missile silo is secured, missiles rain down on the Zaya Observatory.

Phase 2
Next, players must collect 45 gas canisters combined across all squads in an underground weapons facility underneath the Zaya Observatory.
After collecting a gas canister, a player’s perspective will change from first to third person until the canister is deposited at the helicopter transport vehicle marked on the map.
Gas will be present in the area during this part of the mission, and the map will mark dangerous areas in yellow. Squads can replace their gas masks by looting AI enemies or opening supply boxes.
Phase 3
After collecting all 45 canisters, all operators must exfil the location marked on the map with the same exfil chopper icon from DMZ. It’s important to note that players can get left behind if they don’t reach the helicopter before it leaves. This is important for players that want to earn all of the rewards.
