Infinity Ward have released the patch notes for the latest Modern Warfare update, which brings new game modes and a variety of bug fixes.
Modern Warfare launched to a somewhat mixed reception from pros and casual players alike, and the November 22 patch is the developer’s latest response to some of the issues raised.
The first thing many players look to in a Call of Duty update is weapon balance, but this time around not much has changed. The FN SCAR 17 received a minor adjustment, while the most significant update allows thermal scopes to see through smoke grenades.
In terms of new content, the highlight for many players may be the addition of an FPS classic in Gun Game, the mode that sees players cycle through different weapons, advancing to a new one with every kill secured.
Much of the patch focuses on fixes for a variety of bugs – competitive players will be pleased to see, for instance, that the Dead Silence bug that prevented the field upgrade from lasting the correct amount of time under CDL rules has been addressed.

The patch doesn’t address many of the more major, systematic criticisms that have been leveled at the game, however. Those hoping for an adjustment to the spawn logic, or the way skill-based matchmaking works, will have to wait for a future patch if such changes are to come at all.
This update also included leaks for new content, including images of two new DLC maps and details about the Season 1 Battle Pass, which is expected to release sometimes in December.
The full patch notes can be seen below.
