Infinity Ward have released patch notes for the latest update in Modern Warfare, patch 1.06, making a number of much requested changes to the game, but still missing many that players have been asking for.
Released early on November 2, the big changes in this relatively small update was the addition of Kill Confirmed and the Night Vision (NVG) playlist.
Other changes included fixes for various crashes on PC and consoles and the removal of battle chatter – but only from one-life modes like Search and Destroy.

Players will definitely be glad to see changes to footstep audio, although it will take some testing to determine if it’s now at a level players are happier with.

Limiting the removal of battle chatter (the character’s in-game callout of positions) to one-life modes only is an interesting decision, as it means enemy players can still hear these callouts in respawn modes – potentially done on trial basis, to assess the impact in-game.
Given the relatively small size of this update, we can still expect a few more over the coming months to address further issues and bugs with the game.
Some of the other issues which haven’t been addressed here (or at least are not mentioned in the patch notes) include spawns, which have been another major complaint, including from pro players.
There is also no weapon balancing changes in this update, which some may find surprising given complaints about the overused M4A1, and the .725 shotgun (which has ridiculous range).
More updates are expected from Infinity Ward soon, so stay tuned.
