The MW3 community is frustrated that AI bots have already flooded the new Ranked Play, and want the devs to do something.
The MW3 playerbase has been theorizing that bots were being put in game lobbies by the developers for awhile as a way to help boost player stats.
With the recent release of the game’s Ranked Play, players were looking forward to a more straightforward, competitive playlist without bots.
Unfortunately, the fans believe that bots have made their way to the new competitive scene, and they’re not happy about it.
MW3 players upset by “bots” flooding into Ranked Play
In a post to the MW3 subreddit, a player posted a clip with the title: “This an actual bot on my team in a ranked game. How is this allowed?”
The clip itself shows them following another character in a ranked match. The patterns and behavior of the character are robotic, and don’t look anything like that of a real person playing.
While the original poster claims it to be a bot, others are quick to point out that this is not the usual behavior of an MW3 bot in the game:

“There is absolutely no way this is an AI bot. Play a private match with bots, they don’t behave anything like this.”
Instead, the community is suggesting that this is an example of someone using an AFK script, which keeps their character moving so that the game doesn’t kick them as they’re away from the game. Not quite a bot in the traditional sense, but still not a real player either.
This is largely done to farm XP for the battle pass or level farming, as completing matches helps with that progress.
But even with this explanation, the players aren’t happy to see it in the game: “Doesn’t matter. Matchmaking is screwed if you’re getting matched with someone who’s afking and throwing matches. That’s a 3v4 and not at all fair.”
It’s clear that the MW3 fanbase wants the devs to do something about this, and it is yet to be seen if anything will be done at all.
