The thousands of Call of Duty fans that had been wondering about the career status of OpTic Gaming captain Seth ‘Scump’ Abner have now gotten their answer.
The longtime OpTic star took to Twitter on August 20 to announce that he will not be retiring, clearing up the heavy rumors and speculation that WWII may have been his last competitive title.
Scump’s tweet was short and to the point, as he made it clear that he still has a strong desire to win in the upcoming Black Ops 4 Season.
Not retiring. I want to win again (just to clear the rumors and speculation)
Rumors regarding Scump’s potential retirement were sparked to life after his sub-par performance in the CWL Pro League Stage 2 Playoffs led to tournament favorites OpTic losing in the first round.

These speculations continued to grow as the team crashed out of group stage of the 2018 CWL Championships, and Scump finished a season without winning an event for the first time in his illustrious career.
With this announcement, all of that talk will now come to an end, as the 2017 World Champion and 2-time X-Games Gold Medalist will continue competing for at least one more season.
While his position within OpTic is securely cemented, the question of who he will be teaming with still remains, as competitive Call of Duty heads into what should be a very busy offseason.
