Despite getting nerfed in the Season 5 Reloaded update, the STG44 and Static-HV remain must-use weapons.
As part of the Season 5 Reloaded update, Raven Software nerfed the STG44’s max damage range from 36 to 32 meters.
Meanwhile, the Static-HV got hit much harder. Damage range and modifier multiplier nerfs across the board should have been enough to knock the SMG out of contention on paper, but the data tells a much different story.
Starting Warzone’s long-range meta, the SOA Subverter, STG44, Pulemyot 762, and RAAL MG single fire JAK Protean conversion kit stand out as our top choices after the mid-season update.
Thanks to data provided by TrueGameData, we compared time-to-kill speeds for every top long-range meta weapon. The Pulemyot 762 and RAAL MG take down enemies incredibly fast, but slow mobility and reload times make both weapons less appealing.
In the latest update, the SOA Subverter had its max damage range increased by five meters. However, STG44 still performs better at most ranges than any other option and has great mobility and recoil control, making it the best option.

The Lachmann Shroud has the best TTK for short-range meta weapons up to 10 meters, but that stat is deceiving because the damage drops off a cliff outside of that range, and poor mobility knocks it down a peg.
With that in mind, the Static-HV and Superi still stand tall thanks to their incredible fire rate and mobility. An argument can be made for the FJX Horus and Striker making a claim for the top spot, but they are still a tier below the top two choices.
As players get more familiar with every weapon change over the next few weeks, the meta will evolve slightly more. In saying that, based on the data, it’s very possible that players will mostly use the same guns that they did for the first half of the season.
