The Thresher Scorestreak in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is underperforming and Treyarch is working on a fix.
Matt Scronce, a Senior Game Designer at Treyarch, humorously implied a buff was coming to the Thresher, saying, “Had a talk with the Thresher pilot this week. I believe we came to a mutual agreement.”

In Black Ops 4, the Thresher is one of the most expensive Scorestreaks in the game at 1250 points.
Players expect more performance out of an expensive streak and Treyarch has noticed.
I’d argue that it sees little play due to it underperforming, which our data backs up. Part of my job is to make sure those underperformers are tuned in order to hit our targets that we set (Kills Per Use in this example), whether that be up or down.

“I’d argue that [the Thresher] sees little play due to it underperforming, which our data backs up,” started Scronce. “Part of my job is to make sure those underperformers are tuned in order to hit our targets that we set (Kills Per Use in this example), whether that be up or down.”
Hardcore players might be cringing at the thought of a more powerful Thresher, since aerial streaks have a tendency to take out teammates in modes where friendly fire is on.
Fear not, Treyarch is also aware of that issue and is working on a way to eliminate Scorestreak teamkills from the count that will kick players.
“Changes to Scorestreaks not counting toward the kick limit are checked in and in test,” said Scronce.
